As a child growing up in extremely abusive environments, I learned very well how to accept abuse as being a normal way of life. Now as I struggle to come to terms with my abuse and the abuse of my siblings, family members have made contact with me in order to force me to change the contents of this website. It is commonly known that abusers will stop at nothing to keep the abuse secret. What is most disheartening, is that they have bought into the lies of one of the major abusers and are now threatening to spread fabrications that I caused the abuse of my siblings. I can only assume this is being done in order to protect the abusers from being exposed. It greatly saddens me, that one of my siblings would intentionally attempt to hurt me by sending such shameful lies and half-truths. My hope is that in time they will consider the actions and inactions of the adults in the household. It is they who are responsible for all the disgusting and terrifying abuse that happened to not only myself, but also my siblings. Parents have a duty to protect their children. Children are never to blame. Youcannot hold a child responsible.

I am told that shedding tears is a positive, healthy form of expression. Due to my past and current hurts I struggle to shed tears. I have placed forever tears on this page in hopes that one day I can more easily shed my own tears, as I know there are oceans of them to come. Whether or not this will happen, remains to be seen. Thank you so much for gracing us with your presence and for taking the time to browse through My Safe Haven. I have attempted to include a little something for everyone. There are Sweet Things that will touch your heart and even a Playground and Fireworks Magic, for the children within us all. My Safe Haven continues to be a labour of love for me and I am continually making additions and changes so I hope you will return often.

I put careful consideration into choosing the right music for My Safe Haven. Music that would express how I feel about myself and also express some of the emotions attached to this site. I have a great love of roses you will see as you move through my site. I have chosen one of my favourite songs, The Rose, byBette Midler from the original 1979 Soundtrack of the Motion Picture"The Rose". It expresses the strength and willpower needed to overcome obstacles. It is one of most beautiful songs I have ever heard. It really touches my soul and I hope you enjoy listening to it here.
